Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe are nominees for the Critics’ Choice Awards in the categories of Best Young Actress and Best Young Actor, respectively. Seems like quite an honor for these two. Congratulations to both on their nominations and here’s hoping they win.
Goblet of Fire is also up for an award in the Best Family Film (live action) category.

The inimitable Atlanta blogger Duane Moody, whom I had the pleasure of meeting this past week, brings us his blogged review of the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. He and I are both big fans of Prisoner of Azkaban, but we both enjoyed GoF. I think this statement best sums up or mutual opinion and experience:
This was by far the best film, both visually, and story-wise; but that is thanks to a great book. In my opinion, the only thing that represented a shortcoming, was the hurried feel, and had a deeper attention to Rowling’s detail, this movie would be even better. With that being said, it was, even given its downfalls, a winner. I give Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, six out of six stars.
Alright, now that I’ve ruined the ending, go read his full review. You’ll thank me for it.

This is what happens when you have an image editing program, a scanner, an empty Altoids tin, and too much time on your hands:

These next two wallpapers were made by the request of people over at the MuggleNet forums. One is of Emma Watson from a photo shoot that the trio did with Entertainment weekly. But I did something cool with her eyes. Click to see full-size and take a look. The other is a blend of several shots of the trio together with a little poem I wrote about six years ago before I even read Harry Potter, but it seemed to fit so I used it.

This is kind of neat. Somebody has made an AJAX version of Tom Riddle’s diary. You can type in questions and sentences and it answers you semi-intelligently using a chatbot. Wow, I think I just got way too technical for a lot of people. Just check it out and you’ll see what I mean.

SnorgTees has a funny t-shirt with a Potter allusion on it. It reads in a faintly Potterish font, “Dumbledork”.

Does Harry Potter die in the forthcoming seventh book? That’s the lede of this Scotsman article.
Close source Jim Dale, voice of the Harry Potter books on tape in the U.S. says:
“She’s lived with Harry Potter so long she [JK Rowling] really wants to kill him off.”
I’ve been speculating since finishing Half-Blood Prince that one of the potential endings to the series would involve the death of the “boy who lived”.
What do you think?

Blender, a music magazine, has an interesting article about Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe’s dedication to Punk music, along with a list of his favorite albums of all time.
He’s vocal about what he likes and doesn’t like: “I love real punk — not Avril Lavigne, who thinks wearing a tie is punk”. It’s refreshing to see Dan depart from his choir boy image of late. Especially since book Harry is becoming ever so angsty, dark, and kick-ass. He’s got to keep up right?
Oh and nice pics to please the fangirls.
