Emma Watson chooses Corona over Butterbeer
Gawker has a somewhat incriminating photo of Emma Watson (age 15) pantomiming she’s about to take a sip of a bottle of Corona beer. I don’t have any idea of the context, but it looks to me like the kind of photo a teenage girl would take when she’s out for dinner with a group of her friends and their respective mothers.
Others can feel free to disagree.
Gawker also links a very funny YTMND audio/visual mash-up that mixes the photo, tiled, with Jimmy Buffett crooning for Corona.
YMMV

Um, I think it could be a fake. Have you ever seen anyone hold a beer bottle like that? Barring it being a fake, I think you’re right, and she’s just hamming it up for the camera. Conveniently we can’t see the rest of the pic. She’s probably having dinner with her mother, for all we know.

Just adding, does anyone find it more disturbing that she’s wearing a shirt that has Snoopy and a menacing looking wolf on it? WTF?

“YMMV” your right and to furthermore englighten you as to british custom….we are very relaxed about drinking……when you drink when you are eating dinner, its legal (notice utensils and plates set down), also, there are adults in the area as well like you mentioned making it even more legal, a teenager can drink actually at age 15 with adults around, or when they are eating, and at 16 (which emma is in less then a month) you can drink full stop but you cant buy it. Hope that helps.

What is in butterbeer, anyway? I got the impression that young wizards-in-training weren’t supposed to have it, so it’s probably not root beer.

butterbeer is butter mixed with beer, but you have to boil and churn the butter first and make sure to add a pinch of salt, pepper, and barbeque sauce.
