Is dumbledore really dead????
Look heres the scoop-when i heard people gossiping about it I was all “DUMBLEDORE IS DEAD. You all are coming up with RIDICULOUS theories!!!!”

and after reading it I was convinces.Check it out!!!! Too much evidence!!!!!!
You see?? Its totally bizarre!!! Look at the circumstances under which he died!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That’s an interesting site. I’m working on a summary of 4 major theories about Dumbledore’s death. I had the same reaction you did at first, but now I at least have to consider it.
There’s another very fascinating theory that Dumbledore and Slughorn switched places the night Dumbledore and Harry went to the cave, and it was actually Slughorn, pretending to be Dumbledore, who faked death. Too much to go in a comment, but lots of interesting evidence.

The guy who built this site (who’s, btw, the one in charge of Wizard News) is simply mixed up with two seperate theories, which he thinks are one. The first is the theory that says that Snape is good. The second is the theory stating Dumbledore is not dead. The problem is that the only thing he (sort of) proves in the site is the first theory, not the second.
And I agree that there is a possibility that Snape is good (but he also might be evil), but there is no evidence to support Dumbledore still being alive.

haha, i read it too. it really seems to be true yeah ? but i feel it would be sorta anti climatic if we found out that after all the tears and all, D’s still alive after all..I mean, it’d be cool. but the story has to move forward, not backwards right ?

I’m still working on the Dumbledore essay, but hopefully it’ll be up within the next week or two.
I still tend to think he’s dead. But the theories are quite interesting and make you think twice.

cool theory travis, however there is one flaw, in HBP, after dumbledore dies, harry is asked by McGonnagal to enter dumbledores office, and there on the wall, is a picture of dumbledore sleeping, lie all the other headmasters who died. if slughorn and dumbledore sweitched places, then it would be slughorn’s picture, not dumbledore’s.
also, if that wasnt dumbledopre, then where was the real one, he wouldnt just let ron, ginny, neville, luna, bill and co. to fight the death eaters alone, no, i dont want to think it, but dumbledore is dead.
P.S whats the name of the site everyone’s talking about?

I think this site is pretty detailed, but I don’t know. Many people think that Dumbledore wanted Harry to go out on his own, but doesn’t he need guidence? I still think Dumbledore is dead and I think I need more convincing! But still,I agree hpqueen13 about seeing it in all views. I guess I just don’t see why J.K Rowling would do that, I guess I’ll wait for the Dumbledore essay and more of your comments! By the way Mark the site is www.DUMBLEODREISNOTDEAD.COM. Thanks!

People say Dumbledore created a Horcrux but isnt that utmost evil? Would D do that?
Anyway theres another theory that the barman in the Hogs Head is Aberforth. Bexcause D mentions that hes “friendly with the local barmen”…anyway I think all of us are just delving TOO deep into the story!!!!

In answer to the portrait question. If Dumbledore faked his death, then surely he would have thought to plant a portrait there to make the thing look genuine.
Also, in the “Slughorn pretends to be Dumbledore” theory, no one actually dies. The AK curse doesn’t actually kill (read the theory in the essay), and whoever falls to the ground (Dumbledore or Slughorn) either drinks the “draught of living death” potion to appear dead, or transfigures some object into a copy of Dumbledore’s body.

I do not think that dumbledoer is dead either. I new almost immediately that he wasn’t REALLY dead. Just think about it. I haven’t read the sixth book for ages so don’t get peeved off or anything if I get some of the facts wrong.
As you may know, Snape made an unbreakable vow to Malfoy’s mother to keep him from completing his task. AND, if he is as loyal as he and Dumbledore say he is, then he would have told Dumbledore and the Order about what Malfoy was up to.
Obviously, Dumbledore being a genius and all devised a cunning planned to fake his death. His plan needed Sanpe to make it seem genuine. Snape would make the perfect murderer since he’s a death eater and still has contact with voldemort.
Skipping ahead to the night when he supposedly dies…
When harry and Dumbledore return from the cave and find the Dark Mark floating malevolently over Hogwarts, Dumbledore, following his plan, flys off to the tower and waits. He hides harry beneath the invisibility cloak. Harry watches as Malfoy fails to perform the killing curse. (I can’t remember if he freezes harry then or after, someone will have to correct me). Now here’s the firghtening bit:
He begs Sanpe to carry out the plan. He does it, Snape performs the killing curse. But the REALLY wierd bit is when Dumbledoer is BLASTED off the tower. In all of the books I have read about harry potter, Never have I read that when the Avada Kadevra curse was performed that any of the victims blew away or were blasted. They all crumpled silently to the ground.
That’s the only evidenve that I have been able to find that Dumbledore may still be alive.

You guys are stupid. J. K. Rowling told reporters (a few days ago) that he will return in the end of the 7th book to help Harry defeat Voldemort. Harry meets his parents and siruis black as well. This book will be the largest of the series.

Of course Dumbledor will re-appear. Rowling is not so insensitive as to negate him thoroughly. I feel Albus will be there to help Harry seal his (Harry’s) parents’ revenge, probably as a Patronus…

Snape is evil.He helped Voldemort kill Harry parents.We all know that Snape is good at occlumency but I see no way by which Snape could fool LordVoldemort, the worlds most accomplished Legilimens.
