Is Dumbledore Immortal?
Is Dumbledore immortal? I am sorry if this has already been posted. But after reading www.dumbledoreisnotdead.com I was thinking if he could be immortal, if he hasn’t died, if he has this post is pointless! But he said if people remain loyal tohim , he won’t be gone.I know Dumbledore is a wise man, he might have meant in mind and heart but that could mean more. Harry is faithful to Dumbledore….which had been proven throughout the series. In the second movie(COS) Harry goes back 50 years and Dumbledore hasn’t changed much…..that could have been done with makeup, and same in the forth when Harry goes into the pensieve….though that was only 13 years back. Dumbledore is an old wizard but very wise and he has many memories of the past, that would be a long time and big past. Dumbledore knows many people that are older then him ex. Nicholas Flamel(but he had the stone). There could be other reasons as well…like the fact that Dumbledore has been teaching at Hogwarts for ages, and that he knows about many other people and things.
This is an odd possiblility but I would like to hear what all of you think!

Dumbledore was around 150 years old when he died, but that’s no biggie, because wizard life expectancy is longer than muggle. It’s entirely unlikely that Dumbledore is immortal, because that would be against everything he’s taught us so far about death, as well as the major theme of the book (there are things worse than death).

if he made a horcrux then wouldn’t he have already come back? they had his funeral as well. i think it is “:possible” that he could come back, but its seems odd, that he would come back, after his funeral and also, fauks his pheonix *disappeared (sory can’t remember, if the bird died or disappeared … sorry)*

I don’t think that Dumbledore made a Horcrux for three reasons 1. I agree that so far this has been brought about as an evil deed 2. I dout weather dumbledore would tear his soul into objects (but if I’m wrong, his pheonix would be a good one) and 3. Dumbledore believes that there are worst things then death, which he has stressed through all the books. He doesn’t really consider dieing a big deal, so he probablly didn’t try to prevent it. Also, i think he would have something different planned for his enemies other then killing them. Thats why i think it’s an unlikely plot.
On another topic that has been mentioned, the ‘dumbledorisnotdead.com’ website. I can come up with an logical explaination for just about everyone of their ideas that don’t involve dumbledore staging his own death. i mean no disrespect, but they are grasping at straws. I do hope that they are right and i hope he does come back somehow, but at somepoint we will have to face whats happened in, i must point out, a ‘Fictional’ (yes i said it, fictional) book.

Renee your points are valid and all, but are you a hp fan? Have you ever seen jks interviews?? She says that we SHOULD “grasp at straws” as she reveals that she has hidden various clues in the books which the daily mail has called “HP Sleuths”.
So, if you are true fan Renee you will agree that it is “fictional” to a point but its grasping capability of the readers mind leaves you so delirious that you no longer consider it a a mere work of mindless entertainment or “fiction” but more as a work of art to be cherished forever.
I happen to agree that the possibility of Dumbledore having a Horcrux is highly improbable but for true Hp fans the serching for clues is an obsession

YES! I am definately a fan and i read up on Harry Potter news daily. Trust me, I have been looking for loop holes throughout every book for some clue and I’ve been reading up on whatever I can, but I do have a point in my last blog. I agree that jkr’s books are a ‘work of art’ but i believe that the hints jkr is sending us, don’t have to do so much with Dumbledore, but with Harry. We have to remember that we will be learning more about Harry’s family and it’s past in this book and that could be what the ‘between the line’s’ serch is about.

he might be. After reading dumbledoreisnotdead.com i think he can be. Since he knows so much about a horcrux, he might have created one himself. Though it involves the awfull act of KILLING!!!!!!! He did commit a murder of a well known evil wizard earlier which caused him to be this famous. That was mentioned in the 1st book. That had ripped his soul apart and he might taken an advantage of this and might have created a horcrux. BUT I PERSONNALLY THINK HE WASNT KILLED AT ALL. SNAPE IS ON HIS SIDE!!!!!!!!!! u know it all seemed pretty well planned. A famous wizrd would not beg for not being killed but he begged for snape to do it. It was an expelliarmus spell. He rose into the air and was thorwn back. In an avada kedavra curse ur just instantly dead.

Dumbledore helped Flammel create the stone. So, how old were each of them when this collaboration happened? Dumbledore could be quite old.
