Okay, I know this is kinda off-topic. But I just wondered..like, what books do you guys read besides Harry Potter ? For me, I’m all like Sidney Sheldon, Paulo Coelho or John Grisham etc etc..
Anyway, just a thought. =)

recently ive been really into the Malorie Blackman “Noughts and Crosses” triliogy. the first book is “Noughts and Crosses”, 2nd “Knife Edge” and the last one is called “Check mate”. The books are about a world which is dominated by black people, wo are called crosses and the noughts (white people) are basically servents to the crosses. its about how a girl cross and a boy nought get involved with each other. its a sad book, but i thought it was really good. the 2nd one is following the 1st, obviously.

I actually read a lot of different books then Harry Potter (none as good though). I’ve been working on some classics like ‘The Odessey’ and I’ve been reading ‘The lord of the Rings’ series. I like Christopher Pike books, and ‘Remember Me’ was awsome.

Actually anything really… a good but really, really short-book series is Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants. The Notebook is good and I think I am going to start the Lord of the Ring series too.A good author is Janette Rallison.I like how she writes and of course J.k Rowling, with no doubt at all, if she continues to write I will read them.

I love Dan Brown’s DaVinci Code and Angels and Demons. I actually thought Angels and Demons was better than DaVinci. I’d love to see a few more Robert Langdon Adventures.

I love Stephen King. I\’ve read almost all of his books. In particular, if you\’re looking for something in the fantasy quest genre (akin to Harry Potter), I suggest King\’s Dark Tower series which took him 30+ years to write and which he just finished in 2005. Imagine if we had to wait that long for Rowling! But The Dark Tower series is fantastic, King even pays a little homage to Rowling (he\’s a huge fan of the HP series) in book 5 of the series, Wolves of the Calla.
Oh, but if you\’re under age, you\’ll want to get this book approved by your parents first, it\’s got some graphic adult content.

Steven King is good, but now i’m reading the Georgia Nicolson series by Louise Rennison. I’m on the 5th book in the series, ‘Away Laughing on a fast Camel’ aka (in England) ‘And That’s When It Fell Off in My Hand’.

Currently I am reading Havana Bay by Martin Cruz Smith which is an excellent book. It continues the story of Akardy Renko which began with Gorky Park. The next one in the series is called Wolves Eat Dogs, and I look forward to starting that one tomorrow.
I am also reading a book by Donald Westlake called The Hot Rock which is hilarious! I got that one from my father in law, who is a fan of the Parker books, which Donald Westlake writes under the name of Richard Stark. Remember the movie Payback with Mel Gibson? That was based on the book by the same name..
I also just finished the book Single & Single by John Le Carre, which was an excellent read. (As all his books!)
I also want to read The Devil wears Prada.
I go back and forth between reading other books then re-reading the Harry Potter series. I absolutely love JK Rowling’s writing and adore Harry Potter.
I am torn between impatiently awaiting the next/last book and dreading it, as it is the last book. I wish she would continue the series and never stop writing about Harry and the wizarding world, after all she is young. . .why not continue?? One book every few years would be enough for me and probably the entire world. After all, once Voldemort is taken care of, there could be many other wicked wizards. . .or trials and tribulations for Harry and his friends. Why not watch him grow up to be an adult, a husband, a parent and so on.
Why does she have to stop at 7? Just because it’s number 7?

Rohinton Mistry’s book A Fine Balance is nothing like Harry Potter, but the writing is superb and the characters are so interesting. Gone with the Wind is also a fantastic read. I’m also a fan of the Shopaholic novels by Sophie Kinsella.
