New Interview With Dan Radcliffe
via HPANA
In a recent interview on the set of Order of the Phoenix, Dan Radcliffe discussed the end of the series and Half-Blood Prince, as well as his role in Equus.
He says that he has no knowledge of the outcome of the seventh book although he has discussed his character with Rowling. He said of Harry, “It may be the only way Voldemort could be killed is if Harry dies as well because there is that very strong connection between them.”
When asked if he would be doing Half-Blood Prince, Dan displayed his usual caution by saying that he didn’t know, but added, “But the sixth book is fantastic and if the script is good and does it justice, then it would be foolish to turn it down.”
He also sort of gave himself away by saying, “I don’t know anything that’s going to happen in the seventh film. I hope it will be very, very good. I’ll go with whatever.”
One can obviously deduce from these comments that his plan is to continue doing the films. Every year, much is made of whether the young actors can and will continue to play the roles of Harry, Hermione, and Ron. But in reality, the reluctance of the kids to say for sure that they are doing the next film is probably due to advice from their managers. They can get a bigger paycheck if they hold out on definitely committing to the next film in public.

After I read the sixth Harry Potter, I also thought that it would be good if Harry had to sacrafice himself in order to kill Voldemort, but I never thought of the strong connection part. I know it’ll probably be good anyways. But honestly I don’t see why anyone wouldn’t want to play the Harry Potter characters. I really hope all of them stay because NO ONE can play them that well… No one!

i agree, it wouldn’t really be the same having different harry potter cast for the last movie, because everyone has watched them grow up and it would be starnge not to see them in the last film.
