If you were in the Order of the Phoenix movie, which part would you want to do? Personally I would like to have done the D.A lessons because we could do the spells on each other. I would also like to do the Grawp parts in the woods!
I’ve heard that HBP will be released on November 21st 2008. However, it seems a tad..strange. We’ve never heard about a HP movie so far in advance before ya ? Am kinda afraid that they’ll rush the movie just to make the deadline..
What do you think ?
Very few fan-made Harry Potter videos catch my eye, especially as most of them are made to ship Harry and Hermione or some other equally unlikely pair, but this one over at YouTube caught my eye.
So building off of Ravenclaw Wit’s excellent post from VERY early this morning, I’d like to interject a couple of things:
Dumbledore IS Dead!
Yeah, I liked the theory that Snape somehow didn’t kill him, but it’s not true.
Now that doesn’t mean Snape has to be on LV’s side. He could always have done because Dumbledore either wanted to die or had some kind of unspoken code or a myriad of other reasons.
I think one of the most interesting aspects of a final book will be the summation of the story surrounding Snape’s origins, his fall from grace, his salvation and his ultimate fate.
Still, sad to know Dumbledore’s truly gone, but it makes the emotional weight of HBP that much heavier.
Will Harry survive?
I’ve mentioned this before, and I certainly hope it’s true, but it would be EXTREMELY bad if Harry died at the end of the 7th book.
Since Dumbledore’s death is for real, Harry’s death would be too much.
“My fingers are crossed for Harry,” Irving said before a charity reading by the three writers at Radio City Music Hall.
The author of The World According to Garp and a string of bestsellers said he and King were like “warm-up bands” for Rowling, who is working on the seventh and final book in the Harry Potter series, and who has said two characters will die.
King, who shot to fame in 1974 with Carrie, said he had confidence Rowling would be fair to her hero.
“I don’t want him to go over the Reichenbach Falls,” he said in a reference to Arthur Conan Doyle’s effort to kill off fictional detective Sherlock Holmes. Fan pressure led Conan Doyle to resurrect Holmes, who was found in a later story to have survived.
So now that we’ve beaten the Dumbledore death and Harry’s fate into the ground, who do you think dies in Book 7?
Also, give us your best guess at a title. I’m curious.
I have a couple news type items for all you Harry Potter fans out there. These could be construed as Spoilers, by some fans, so you’ve been warned.
First off, MuggleNet has received a tip regarding how the Order of the Phoenix will begin, a question that many fans have been wondering. In short, the fight between Harry, Dudley, and the Dementors takes place in the entrance to the Dursley’s house rather than in an alleyway, and many things have been condensed or shortened. This leads me to believe that the character of Mrs. Figg has been cut, as if the dementor incident takes place inside the Dursley’s how would Mrs. Figg be there?
And from HPANA, J.K. Rowling appeared last night at Radio City Music Hall in New York City with authors Stephen King and John Irving for a charity event. She surprised fans by revealing some tidbits about book 7. In particular she debunked the popular theory that Dumbledore isn’t dead. She stated,
You shouldn’t expect Dumbledore to pull a Gandalf. I need to be more explicit: Dumbledore is definitely dead. I know there’s an entire site out there called DumbledoreIsNotDead.com, and I’m sorry they’re not going to like this answer.
She was also asked about Petunia Dursley’s potential to love Harry, and she answered by saying that there’s more to Petunia than meets the eye. Rowling also revealed that she thought she had settled on a title for book 7, but that a new one had occurred to her just that afternoon.
