HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX
I don’t know about anybody else, but it sounds awesome to me. I’m so excited about the movie because OotP is actually my favorite book of the series. I’m glad to hear that the Umbridge quill scene didn’t get cut. I was afraid it might have been a casualty. But Harry needs his scars; they make him who he is.

I agree with you. The news of the upcoming promo seems reassuring in that I think they are hitting many of the critical elements from the book. OOTP is probably my favorite as well, though I like them all to the point that it is very hard to judge.
Translating both the Goblet of Fire for the big screen was a huge challenge because the book was so rich in detail and content. The same challenge applies to OOTP as well, don’t you think? I know that it is way early, but I have a good feeling about this movie. GOF was itself sort of a movie trailer. They covered so much ground so fast, it was dizzying. And they added some plot elements that, in my mind, did not do much for the movie.
A prime example of that was the first challenge, where Harry had to snatch the dragon’s egg. In the book, it was quite exciting, in the movie, they had the dragon breaking free of its chains, chasing Harry all over the castle, tearing up portions of the castle and spitting flames. In the end, what did all that add to the movie? Not much in my opinion.
I’m hoping that, for this next movie, they follow the Lord of The Rings Model. Only embelish where it add something substantial or reveals plot elements as it makes sense on the big screen. Don’t embelish for embelishments’ sake. In most cases you have to pare the content down, so don’t add additional things that require further paring from the content of the book.
I look forward to seeing the movie trailer.
