UPDATE: The Guardian has an image of the U.K. version.
The children’s cover for Bloomsbury in Britain is by Jason Cockroft, who illustrated the previous two books, and features Harry, Ron and Hermione leaping out of a circle of gold, surrounded by treasure. Harry himself looks almost unrecognisably grown-up - although the trademark specs remain - and all the intrepid cloak-clad trio look shocked and have cuts and bruises on their arms. The inside front cover features a stag, while the inside back cover has an illustration of a snake inside a silver orb. The adult edition cover pictures a locket, believed to belong to Slytherin.

Despite rampant rumors in the past couple of weeks that Harry Potter star Emma Watson was ready to abandon her role as the bookish Hermione Granger, Warner Bros. released a statement today confirming that all three of the teenage stars are confirmed for the final two films in the blockbuster Harry Potter series. All three stars then released statements confirming the announcement.
Emma Watson was quoted as saying,
I could never let Hermione go—she is my hero! I love her too much and love what playing her has meant to me. I am excited and honoured to be finishing what I started and playing her in all seven of the films.
I couldn’t be happier that Emma is returning for the remaining films. It just wouldn’t be the same without her.
Not anyone I know personally, but here’s cartoonist Raina Telgemeier on seeing Daniel Radcliffe naked:
What does Harry Potter’s junk look like?
It looks normal, guys. Normal, normal, normal. He looks like a dude. Nothing to stress in either direction, nothing to call the press about. Anyway I was sitting in a balcony, and it’s not like they turn a spotlight on him as soon as he takes his clothes off.
And did you know there is a naked girl on the stage with him? I hadn’t heard anything about that. Or that Richard Griffiths, who plays Harry’s Uncle Vernon in the movies, is actually the star of the play? He’s really good. The whole play was really good. Dan Radcliffe did a fine job in it, even though it doesn’t really give him a chance to be subtle–he yells a lot, but that’s the role. So it was an evening very well spent, and Dave and I pondered over the story the next morning at breakfast, which is always a good sign.

Reports surfaced today that Dan Radcliffe has definitively signed on for the last two Potter films. The actor’s official fansite, DanRadcliffe.co.uk, received word from his publicist that he will indeed finish out the series.
This comes as little surprise, as the actor has said all along that barring any extraordinary circumstances, he would very much like to see his role as Harry Potter to the end. Rupert Grint has also indicated in various interviews that he intends on playing Ron through the last two films. The only one up in the air at this point is Emma Watson, who told HPANA in September that she was “looking for other work” and would not rule out or specifically confirm her ongoing role as Hermione Granger.
It would be devastating to the Harry Potter series (the movies) if Emma chose not to continue. I also feel, and let me be blunt, that it would be the most spectacularly stupid career choice ever made by a young actress. It would only serve to show any future director that she is a person who doesn’t finish what they start. Not only that, but quitting now would only earn her a tremendous amount of ill will from disgruntled fans. They wouldn’t be able to watch anything she was in without remembering that she single-handedly destroyed the magic of the last two Potter films.
Rumors have circulated that perhaps Emma is not as in love with acting as she was when she was 11, and wishes to pursue other avenues. If that’s the case, I respect that. But to stop now when there are only two movies left seems silly. She could finish up the last two films, and then be free, with enough money and positive notoriety to pursue any career and/or life she wants. The actress has been quoted as saying that the films “take so long to film” and that she might be missing out on opportunities while filming Harry Potter. Not likely. The last movie will probably film during 2009 and will come out in 2010. She’ll be what, 20? Oh yes, I quite agree, it’s way too late to pursue a different career choice at the ripe old age of 20.
This writer can only conclude that her cryptic statements as regards her role in future Potter movies are an attempt to score a higher salary from Warner Bros. Indeed, I wish her well in this endeavor, as I think they should pay her whatever she wants. She should probably be making nearly as much as Dan Radcliffe at this point. But I hope that while striving towards this goal she doesn’t cut off her nose to spite her face.
